Diane Binns

A woman of compassion and commitment with a practical interest in the well being and morality of those less fortunate, especially the female convicts and orphans of early settlement. She supported the kindergarten movement and established the first Female School of Industry (1827). Above all else, she was a family-oriented woman, gifted artist and remains a goddess watching over the passing citizens of our Swan River.
